Women’s History Month – International Women’s Day March 8th

This week we kick off the celebration of Women’s History Month by shining the light on women who have made history and women who are making history…scratch that, it’s time for HERSTORY!

Our history books are filled with the tales of mostly men which, of course, is the result of a variety of factors.  However, it is easy to see that at the root of all those factors is the fact that we have been living in a male dominated society.  It is not because women haven’t contributed greatly to the shaping of our world and our cultures.  It is because women’s contributions weren’t recognized by the male leaders, captains of industry, law-makers, publishers (and the list goes on and on).  As our world shifts from a male dominated energy to one of more balance, by integrating female energy, women today are finally receiving the recognition and opportunity to contribute in much bigger ways. Our mission at Women’s Prosperity Network is to provide women today with the tools, resources and community to support them in contributing to their own corner of the world and the world at large. This Month we will be highlighting women from our community, recognizing some of the unsung Sheroes from the past, and we’re hosting an online event all day on Saturday, March 8th – designated as International Women’s Day.

Let’s make HERSTORY together!   (CLICK HERE)  The theme for International Women’s Day 2014 is “Inspiring Change.”  We invite you to share photos, stories and testimonies of women who have inspired change for you and/or for others.  Let us now stand up and be recognized for the huge contribution women have made and continue to make in the world.

HERSTORY Highlight – Making a Difference Today

Michelle D. Howe (WPN Lifetime Member) Michelle is making a huge contribution today through her coaching, leadership, speaking, her beautiful spirit and desire to be of service to others.  She shares “My Purpose:  I am an authentic woman of God that gives encouragement, enlightenment and empowerment to those around me.”  And that she does!  One of her latest avenues for providing this to others is through “Weekend of Wins.”  A transformational experience around a race event AND it’s a community of finishers who have decided to use each win in their life to propel themselves forward.  WPN honors and thanks Michelle for her contribution to WPN and the world at large.  By sharing her gifts with others she creates a huge a ripple effect, filling our world with more and more people who value themselves, value others and each of them contribute to the world in a more positive and powerful way.  Thank you Michelle! HERSTORY Highlight From The Past

Emmeline Pankhurst (1859-1928) was a British political activist and leader of the British suffragette movement who helped women win the right to vote. In 1999 Time named Pankhurst as one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century, stating: “she shaped an idea of women for our time; she shook society into a new pattern from which there could be no going back.” (excerpt from Wikipedia).  Emmeline represents one of the many women who had the courage to oppose the status quo and fight for the rights of women. Thank you Emmeline!
